Special Olympics World Winter Games 2025: The Strenght of Kindness.

The Special Olympics, founded by Eunice Kennedy Shriver, sister of John Fitzgerald Kennedy, is the world’s largest sports movement for athletes with intellectual disabilities, promoting inclusion, acceptance, and empowerment through sports.

Titled “The Strength of Kindness – La Forza della Gentilezza“, the Opening Ceremony in Turin officially launched the Special Olympics World Winter Games 2025 with a night of emotions, poetry, and spectacle. Transforming the stage into a space of inspiration and inclusion, the show brought together 1,500 athletes and Unified partners from 100 nations, 2,000 volunteers, and 100,000 spectators, celebrating the power of sport as a force for connection.

Broadcasted live worldwide, the performances – including those of Mr. Rain and Aloe Blacc – embodied the values of diversity, resilience, and determination. A momentous event that reaffirmed inclusion as more than a principle—it is what truly brings us together.

The Closing Ceremony of the Special Olympics 2025 took place in Sestriere, and celebrated the power of inclusion, determination, and the unbreakable spirit of the athletes. An unforgettable moment where sport met emotion, lighting up the mountains with unity and joy.
