MSC | World Europa – Naming Ceremony

The spectacular christening event for a new way of cruising

Doha, and the vibrant context linked to the beginning of FIFA World Cup 2023, hosted the Christening Event of a new, amazing MSC cruise ship. The World Europa represents a new frontier of travelling by cruise ship, because of its unparalleled features in terms of technology and sustainability. 

A night of celebration, for more than 2000 guests, clients and institutions enjoying a beautiful Ceremony. The night started with a Blue Carpet surrounded by corners with local artisans and entertainment. The Ceremony continued with an alternation of speeches made by local authorities, MC and MSC board members and some spectacular entertaining moments: a live performance by Youth Choir of Qatar, a video mapping created in collaboration with Ouchhh Studio, a Drone Show made with 600 drones, a live performance by Matteo Bocelli and a pyro show for the Grand Finale. 

The iconic bottle smashing led to the second part of the night, with a gala dinner taking place onboard, with the possibility for guests to join an Auction and have the chance of winning of one the special and exclusive NFTs, specifically created for the Naming Ceremony and the revenues of which are dedicated to special projects powered by MSC Foundation, linked to sustainability and environmental protection.
