The power of sport to overcome prejudice and transform lives was clearly demonstrated when Abu Dhabi hosted the Special Olympics IX MENA Regional Games.
The HQWS team successfully delivered a stunning turn-key solution including the design and build of all structures and the production of all live entertainment and content elements – resulting in an emotional and truly celebratory, Opening Ceremony. The artistic segment that opened the show saw dancers of all abilities come together in a unforgettable, flawless performance.
With 32 nations represented, the highlight of the event was the Parade of Athletes, all of whom are a wonderful representation of sport’s ability to break down barriers and challenge preconceptions of People of Determination. By the time the “Flame of Hope” was ignited, synchronised to a spectacular video and pyrotechnic sequence, there was not a dry eye in the house.
